HISTORY

In August 2005 Brian and JD Reed approached Ken Heath (who knows most everyone in Marion) about the possibility of starting a “Parrot Head Club” in this small southwest Virginia town. The word was spread, and on August 25, 2005 fourteen party-hardy souls met at Mi Puerta Restaurant. These people became the charter members. On that date, the club name was selected, the officers were elected, membership rates were established, activities were discussed, and Michael Armbrister agreed to design the website.

The club was soon chartered with and officially recognized by “Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc”. Parrot Head clubs exist for the purpose of assisting in community and environmental concerns and to provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.
